Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She has been widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in legal settings. Prof. Goodman has published widely, received many grants and been recognized with numerous national and international awards. She consults with numerous governments and agencies across the world regarding policies as well as the study of children's victimization within the court system. She is currently a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of numerous professional associations, including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division and Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
